Disclaimer: There is currently no plan in the works to bring Thalia’s Musings to film or television. None of these actors have been contacted about such a project. This is pure fantastical speculation on the part of an indie author with delusions of grandeur. Please don’t sue me.
If you recall, this casting series was inspired by a Next Big Thing blog tour that I participated in last week. Today the indie author that I tagged, Carol Parsons, posted her Next Big Thing interview about the latest book in her Journals of Peregrine series. This feel-good sci-fi adventure series is available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. Go read about it!
Okay, back to Thalia. We’ve cast Thalia herself, the Twelve Olympians including Apollo, and the rest of the Olympian Court. On to the realm of Hades. First up: The Iron Queen.
PERSEPHONE: Kate Beckinsale, star of the Underworld film series, is my choice for the Queen of the Underworld.

In this post I cast Evangeline Lilly as Persephone’s mother, Demeter. I can see the family resemblance. Beckinsale is actually older than Lilly, but shut up no she’s not oh my gods she’s a real vampire.
HADES: The Iron Queen needs a dark King. The natural choice is Shane Brolly, aka Kraven, Kate Beckinsale’s fellow Underworld vampire.

They make a very pretty Power Couple of Darkness.
ADONIS: Chord Overstreet, currently playing Sam Evans, your average nice Christian teenage stripper next door, on Glee.

Yeah, he’s adopted.
MNEMOSYNE: Morena Bacarrin, perhaps most famous as Inara Serra on Firefly and Serenity.
Besides the fact that she looks perfect for the part, Morena has the right aura for a maternal Lady-of-the-Lake Mystery-goddess archetype.
MINTHE: Mila Kunis, recently seen in Ted.

I cannot stand Mila Kunis. I have no idea why. She just annoys me. Maybe it’s because she got to do a love scene with Natalie Portman and I didn’t. Anyway, for whatever reason, it would greatly amuse me to see Kate Beckenvamp turn Mila into a sprig of mint.
Next up: Casting the Muses!
